All In Washington Announces Second Round of Child Care Initiative Grants with $2.1M for Licensed Child Care Centers

18 Mar, 2021

COVID-19 has had a devastating impact on the child care field, leaving care providers in a precarious financial position and families without care as many providers have shut their doors or have been forced to reduce capacity.

The Child Care Initiative was formed to provide vital resources and expand access to affordable child care for working parents with the greatest need while also sustaining the industry of child care providers across Washington.

To address the ongoing need, All In Washington has awarded $2.107 million in the second round of Child Care Initiative grants. Funds were distributed to 84 organizations representing 168 program sites serving 11,844 licensed child slots and prioritized licensed non-profit child care centers.

From closing the revenue gap due to lost capacity to providing scholarships to financially vulnerable families to easing costs of purchasing COVID-related safety equipment, these grants are helping providers stay open and ensure families have access to the care they badly need for their children.

Thank you to all of our donors who have gone All in to help sustain child care programs, provide financial aid to purchase necessary supplies and equipment, and support working families throughout the state.
